Responsibilities:
- Assess and inspect vehicle damage to determine the extent of necessary repairs.
- Repair and replace damaged vehicle parts, such as panels, frames, bumpers, and fenders.
- Straighten frames and chassis to align with manufacturer specifications.
- Apply fillers, primers, and paints to refinish surfaces and restore vehicle aesthetics.
- Assemble and reassemble vehicle components, ensuring proper functionality and appearance after repairs.
- Test and verify completed repairs to ensure the vehicle’s safety and quality standards are met.
Requirements:
- Completion of a formal training program in automotive body repair or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience as a Collision Motor Vehicle Body Repairer or in a similar role within the automotive repair industry.
- Proficiency in using repair tools, equipment, and techniques relevant to collision repair.
- Strong attention to detail, precision in repair work, and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and practices in collision repair work.
Tasks
- Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed
- Clean and maintain work space
- Replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components
- File, grind and sand body surfaces to be repaired
- Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting
- Hammer out dents, buckles and defects using blocks and hammers
- Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills and bolt or weld replacement parts into place
- Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling
- Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams
