Responsibilities:

  • Assess and inspect vehicle damage to determine the extent of necessary repairs.
  • Repair and replace damaged vehicle parts, such as panels, frames, bumpers, and fenders.
  • Straighten frames and chassis to align with manufacturer specifications.
  • Apply fillers, primers, and paints to refinish surfaces and restore vehicle aesthetics.
  • Assemble and reassemble vehicle components, ensuring proper functionality and appearance after repairs.
  • Test and verify completed repairs to ensure the vehicle’s safety and quality standards are met.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a formal training program in automotive body repair or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience as a Collision Motor Vehicle Body Repairer or in a similar role within the automotive repair industry.
  • Proficiency in using repair tools, equipment, and techniques relevant to collision repair.

Tasks

  • Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed
  • Clean and maintain work space
  • Replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components
  • File, grind and sand body surfaces to be repaired
  • Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting
  • Hammer out dents, buckles and defects using blocks and hammers
  • Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills and bolt or weld replacement parts into place
  • Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling
  • Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams
